What are your thoughts??

Who would have thought…

Today is my one month blogoversary.  Who knew that I would actually have things to write about?

Not including this post, I have a total of 11 posts.  There have been 218 visitors, and my most popular day was January 31 with 46 readers, when I posted “It’s like a desert…

There have only been 2 comments, one of which was my own.  I feel the love!  It’s all good though. I’m not complaining.

As for the title of this blog, I have only had chips for supper one time. And I felt like crap for two days after that.  I’m also going to try to not buy dinner on the way home.  Even if Subway is considered a “healthier” fast food (we all know it’s not), I still shouldn’t be eating it at 10pm.  I’ve actually done pretty well this month in terms of cooking at home.

In other news… I’m falling in love with a calculator, and I might actually buy it.  Don’t make fun.

Playoff Bound!

All season the team I have been volunteering for has been battling for the last playoff spot. We haven’t been in the playoffs in 3 years.

There are 8 teams in the conference and 7 of them make the playoffs. So that means that we’ve been last every year for the past 3 years.

Tonight we played our second last game, tied with the rival team. We ended up winning 7-4 today against a team we would face in the playoffs if we were to make it. So then we’re up 2 points.

The team we are battling played their last game tonight. If they won then we have to get at least one point on Sunday to make it.

The other team was down by 1 goal 5 times, and they tied it up 5 times to force overtime. And…. They lost in overtime! That means they only got 1 point instead of 2 and they miss the playoffs!!

But I probably won’t be able to go to many games because some of them will be during the week. Sometimes it sucks working at night.

The Players

These are the players in my game of life…

  • Me — 30. Single (maybe? that’s for another post). Really geeky. Teaches math and science.
  • Oldboy — 29. The ex boyfriend. Works in radio and for the hockey team that I also volunteer at. Still friends and talk all the time.
  • Newboy — 33. Met him last August. His life got in the way — babymama drama and more. Randomly came back last Friday.
  • Parents — of course. Mom and Dad.
  • Siblings — I’m the oldest of 7 kids. 7!! Yep that’s a lot.
    • S2 — 28.  My oldest sister. Manages a coffee shop.
    • S3 — 27.  Second oldest sister. She’s weird. None of the other siblings understand what she’s doing sometimes.  Secretary
    • S4 — 26.  Chef.  She has cooked for Lil Kim, Shaun Desman and a bunch of others that were in town at some point.
    • S5 — 24.  Works at a fast food place. I think she’s going back to school but not sure.
    • B6 — 22.  The only boy in the family. Construction.
    • S7 — 20.  The baby. Hair. Call her if you need something done! (If you need her name, let me know).
  • Friends — various.
  • Students — various.
  • Grossroommate — 30-something. I don’t even know.  One day I’ll photodocument some of the gross things that I come across.  It’s all mostly tolerable, but sometimes it’s just like “really?”

[Edited to add:  If any of the siblings or students get even a whiff that I have this blog, it will instantly go private.]

Today was a bunch of nonsense that stressed me out.

First, the internet hasn’t been working all day.  Ever.

Second, I had a full slate at work today. Nine students over 6 hours. That’s the maximum we’re allowed to get.

Then, for the last block I had 4 students show up instead of 3! Way to go, director! Once again, your scheduling saves (ruins) the day! Four students wouldn’t be so bad if they were doing English. But with sciences and math, especially since I’m teaching the course to some of them, 4 students is pretty much impossible!

And I get home. And my roommate’s nieces and nephews are all over me!  I talk to them for a bit and then hole myself up in my room. But even though my door is closed, they constantly knock on it trying to get my attention. They KNOW they’re not allowed to knock on my door.

And after all is said and done, I find out my roommate called Telus (spit!) to “fix the internet” last night and she got a new password on the wifi. She’s been home all day but she neglected to tell me that she had a new password. Awesome. And now she’s on the phone with them because the PVR keeps freezing during playback etc etc.

No idea why she ordered Telus. But it’s not my call. I don’t pay that bill.
