I’m reporting this in an attempt to lose weight. I’m going to start with just updating on getting fast food (too often) or going to sit-down restaurants (more rare). Eventually it might turn into posting all that I eat, or even how much I spend.
Sunday: Raspberry white chocolate Frapp from Starbucks for half price. But eww… I didn’t realise that white chocolate meant white mocha. Blech coffee… Also had sushi that wasn’t that good. It would have been better to have nothing.
Monday: Pizza is cheap on Mondays so it usually lures me in. I mean, $9 for a large with two toppings? And it’s yummy? Yes please.
Tuesday: Ate at home!
Wednesday: Ate at home!
Thursday: Ate at home! Although, I did stand in line at McDonald’s in Walmart but decided it was taking too long.
Friday: Ate at home!
Saturday: Went to the big mall. Ergo, I went to the foodcourt. Burger King
I was doing so well this week. Four days in a row of eating at home! And then I go to the mall and end up in the food court. For some reason I always do that at that mall. And, unfortunately, on my eat at home days, I had chips. Not for supper, but I still shouldn’t have had them.
Any tips on how to eat better? My work hours really make it hard to eat well for dinner (10pm!)

Is there any way you can eat dinner at a ‘normal’ hour, at work? Then you could make big sandwiches (roast beef, meatloaf, etc) with a salad or soup. Or, do that at 10pm. Stock fridge with healthier sandwich meats and other sandwich-able stuff, as well as veggies that you prepare ahead of time (cuke slices, carrot sticks, celery, grapes, fruit, etc).
For us, if I do as much prep work as possible when I can, the easier dinner is and the healthier we eat. The less time you have to eat and the more rushed you feel, the shittier the food.

Unfortunately, I can’t eat dinner at a normal time. I work 3:30 to 9:30, straight through. I’ll probably start doing more sandwich-y stuff since I haven’t really done that.

Shiftwork is horrible, awful, terrible for eating well.
When I was on late shifts I would generally try to cook in the morning so I had a decent meal to take in, or to come back home to and heat up quickly. Do you have kitchen facilities at work?

I’ve been eating my bigger meal at lunch time which helps. But at work there’s only a microwave, and no time to eat. One of the reasons I’ve been getting fast food at night is because by the time I put something together at night it could be 10:30 or 11 before I eat dinner.
