Friday Fill-Ins (November 18)

Every Friday, I’ll be participating in Friday Fill-Ins.

1. As you can see outside, the first snowfall has happened. It’s really early for Vancouver and it will be gone soon, but still…

2. Christmas is soon!  And why the heck am I getting into the Christmas spirit already? Maybe it’s the early snow, and the extra-long time since we had summer weather.  Please don’t mock me, Melissa.

3. I love to buy things that are on sale. When I go grocery shopping, there are very few staples that I would pay full price for.

4. For Christmas, my family likes to give dollar store gifts.  (Look for a post on this coming up! But I have to go shopping first…)

5. What’s up with Demi and Ashton? Oh wait, I don’t care.

6. Everything you need is at your fingertips.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to shopping and catching up on tv, tomorrow my plans include heading to the cafe and Sunday, I want to go to Daiso!

Fast Food Fail: November 6-12

I’m reporting this in an attempt to lose weight.  I’m going to start with just updating on getting fast food (too often) or going to sit-down restaurants (more rare).  Eventually it might turn into posting all that I eat, or even how much I spend.m

  • Sunday: Ate at home!
  • Monday: Ate at home!
  • Tuesday: I didn’t work today because of the way the schedule worked. But I won tickets to the World Jr A Challenge for two games.  Since I was there for 6 hours I had dinner there. I ended up getting the buffet because it was better than a greasy burger and fries. But then I ate too much. Urgh.  Cardio class. I slept in again so I missed this class.
  • Wednesday: Ate at home!
  • Thursday: Ate at home!  Cardio class. Finally woke up on time to go!
  • Friday:  Ate at home!
  • Saturday:  Jamaican friend and I ordered some jerk wings. And I beat her! Maybe I’m Jamaican in a former life… but boy that was some spicy goodness.
Other than Tuesday where I ate too much, I ate at home most of the time.  Now I just need to get back to eating proper food and portions.  I’ve started by buying more fruit than I normally do.

Friday Fill-Ins (November 11)

Every Friday, I’ll be participating in Friday Fill-Ins.

1. Turkey is more delicious the second (and beyond) day when you make turkey sandwiches. Have you tried it with gouda?

2. I do not like pumpkin pie.

3. On and on and on we go, where we stop no one will know.

4. The last time I saw an elephant fly, I was 8 feet tall.

5. Can you believe it is Remembrance Day today? Take time and remember what all the veterans have done for us.  I know my grandparents were in Holland during WWII but they didn’t tell us any stories from that time, except one of them seeing a tank roll down the road.

6. I need a vacation. I haven’t had a good long one in a few years. Come to think of it, I haven’t even gone on a short one in years.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to doing absolutely nothing, but maybe actually clean around here, tomorrow my plans include going to a hockey game and Sunday, I want to get my hair cut from S7!

Bloggy Secret Santa Wishlist

This year, I’m taking part in Serendipity’s Bloggy Secret Santa Project.  I’m disappointed that I didn’t participate last year, but then again I wasn’t a blogger back then. And I wasn’t on twitter much so I didn’t see anybody talk about. (Speaking of which, why aren’t you following me?)

Dislikes:

  • I am not girly in any shape, way or form. So no makeup, no jewelry and the like.
  • Peanut butter. So gross.
  • Sudoku puzzles. (Weird, me being a math person. But in general I don’t find them challenging)
  • Pink
  • Gold
  • Chick flicks

Fast Food Fail: October 30 – November 5

I’m reporting this in an attempt to lose weight.  I’m going to start with just updating on getting fast food (too often) or going to sit-down restaurants (more rare).  Eventually it might turn into posting all that I eat, or even how much I spend.m

  • Sunday: Ate at home!
  • Monday: Ate at home!
  • Tuesday:  Ate at home!  Cardio class.
  • Wednesday: Sushi with a student. It had been a long time since I’ve had sushi. I missed it!
  • Thursday: Ate at home!  Cardio class. I skipped the class today because I slept in instead.
  • Friday:  I don’t want to talk about it. It was not a good eating day.
  • Saturday:  Went to a Reggae cafe and had delicious Jamaican chicken soup. And I had tea from Starbucks when I went on a date with Daisy from Add Vodka

I ate at home a lot, but I didn’t eat very well. I need to get back to cooking more often.

In other news, who has started their Christmas shopping? I have something for 3 people so far.
