Fast Food Fail: August 28 – September 3

I’m reporting this in an attempt to lose weight.  I’m going to start with just updating on getting fast food (too often) or going to sit-down restaurants (more rare).  Eventually it might turn into posting all that I eat, or even how much I spend.

  • Sunday: Ate at home!
  • Monday:  Ate at home!
  • Tuesday:   I had a split shift today, with a 4 hour break. And the water was shut off in my building. So instead of going home I decided to go to the mall for a bit.  Did you know that KFC’s Zinger sandwich isn’t that spicy? They’ve really reduced their spiciness and I don’t think I like it anymore
  • Wednesday:   Ate at home!
  • Thursday:  The Devil happened.  To recover from the devil, I went to have some sushi in my 2 hour break from work.
  • Friday:   Ate at home!
  • Saturday: Ate at home!

I need to get motivated to do exercise. I’m going back to nights next week so I’ll have all morning to do stuff (start work at 3pm). What are some easy things that I can do? What’s a good way to motivate myself to actually get out?

Fast Food Fail: August 21-27

I’m reporting this in an attempt to lose weight.  I’m going to start with just updating on getting fast food (too often) or going to sit-down restaurants (more rare).  Eventually it might turn into posting all that I eat, or even how much I spend.

  • Sunday: Ate at home!
  • Monday:  Ate at home!
  • Tuesday:   Ate at home!
  • Wednesday:   Ate at home!
  • Thursday:  I ended up getting sushi for lunch. Sushi. Nom. Haven’t had it in awhile.
  • Friday:   Ate at home!
  • Saturday: I ended up getting a hot dog combo at the last lacrosse game of the season.  I don’t even know why because I wasn’t that hungry.  But a big congratulations on the Salmonbellies for the great season and making me actually like lacrosse!

Lacrosse is over, but hockey season is starting. Sometimes I’ll have to go to hockey straight from work so I need to figure out a plan for dinner.  I can’t go back to eating rink food every game.

Also, despite eating at home a lot these past few weeks (yay!), I have to admit that my home-eating hasn’t been the best.  I need some ideas for dinner that are easy to make, since I’ll soon be back to my school-schedule and home at 10pm.

Tell me your favourite easy, go-to recipe!

Fast Food Fail: August 14-20

  • Sunday: Blueberry pancakes from the farmer’s market. I go there every year! Athough… they’re not as good as hot firemen pancakes on Canada Day!
  • Monday:   Tonight was pizza night. I haven’t had pizza in a long time, and so I ate too much of it.
  • Tuesday:   Ate at home!
  • Wednesday:   Ate at home!
  • Thursday:  Ate at home!
  • Friday:   Ate at home!
  • Saturday:  I grabbed some food on the way home from Zombiewalk.

On Saturday, I probably could have waited until I got home to find some food.  I was actually looking at McDonald’s menus this week, and while I want to try their new chicken sandwiches, I found that I actually have no desire to go there anymore. Yay!

Fast Food Fail: |August 7-13

  • Sunday: Well, I met the other new guy as mentioned, and we went out to dinner. Good times. That is all.
  • Monday:   Ate at home!
  • Tuesday:   Ate at home!
  • Wednesday:   Ate at home!
  • Thursday:  Hamburger at lacrosse. I was really hungry… forgive me.
  • Friday:   Ate at home!
  • Saturday:   Ate at home!
In terms of eating at home, this week was really good. I must admit that while at the mall, I stared at a McDonald’s menu board for a bit, but I didn’t even want it.  Although, this week I don’t think I ate very much. I notice on my days off (Friday and Sunday), I tend to not eat any breakfast until 3pm, if at all. So I sometimes only have one or one and a half meals on those days.  Also, with my work hours being different every day, I sometimes eat breakfast at 11, but then I don’t get lunch in before work starts and I get off at 7. So I’ve gone a long time without food.  Monday and Tuesday I had the extra burden of medication side effects so I didn’t eat much at all.
Any tips?

Fast Food Fail: July 31 – August 6

  • Sunday:  S7 and I went to watch the Pride Parade downtown and we ended up at a nice Italian restaurant that featured 50% off lunch.  While the service was really slow (no reason for it!) the food was good!
  • Monday:   Ate at home!
  • Tuesday:   Ate at home!
  • Wednesday:   Ate at home!
  • Thursday:  Ate at home!
  • Friday:   Well, the new person I was going to meet on Saturday wanted to change it to Friday. So we went out, had a few beers.  We’ll see what happens
  • Saturday:   Ate at home!
Not bad. Another week where everything not at home was planned.  But other than walking around on Sunday and Friday, I didn’t get out at all.

  • Sunday:  Ate at home!
  • Monday:   Ate at home!
  • Tuesday:   I went to Bellingham to visit a hockey friend, and she made waffles! But that’s not the bad part.  On the way back, I stopped at Jack In The Box. I had never been there before and have always wanted to try it out.  It was meh.
  • Wednesday:   Ate at home!
  • Thursday: I had a hamburger at the last lacrosse game before the playoffs start.  Once playoffs start I won’t be going straight from work so I’ll be able to eat better (I hope!)
  • Friday:   Ate at home!
  • Saturday: Tonight I went to the summer night market with S7. Hurricane potato, meat on a stick, corn on the cob, and deep fried Mars bar. Good thing fair food only happens once every so often.

Another pretty good eating week. Thursday and Saturday were planned but Tuesday was a hiccup. But eating well can only do so much. It’s just that I have no motivation to go out and do anything. How do you motivate the unmotivated?

Fast Food Fail: July 17-23

I’m reporting this in an attempt to lose weight.  I’m going to start with just updating on getting fast food (too often) or going to sit-down restaurants (more rare).  Eventually it might turn into posting all that I eat, or even how much I spend.

  • Sunday:  Ate at home!
  • Monday:   Ate at home!
  • Tuesday:   Ate at home!
  • Wednesday:   Ate at home!
  • Thursday:  Only a hot dog this time!  But a disappointing lacrosse game.
  • Friday:  Ate at home!
  • Saturday:   Ate at home!  While at lacrosse today, I looked around for food, but decided I didn’t want any of it, even though I was hungry.  Better to just wait until I was home.

A much better week this week!  Although with the somewhat crappy weather I didn’t go out for any walks at all.  There was also a step class that I wanted to take but I might have to wait until September because of my summer schedule.  The class ends at 10:45, and sometimes I start at 11.  But once school starts again, I won’t start working until 3pm which would give more than enough time for a shower afterwards.

Overall, I think I have a pretty good handle on eating at home.  I guess the next step is start doing more consistent exercise.  (And step on a scale? That I do not want to do at all…).   What goals do you think I should tack on next?
